An unstained (clipped corner slide) urine cytospin prep must be prepared within 2 hours of collection or specimen will be canceled.
Specimen Collection: Urine, Random
Container(s): Sterile Urine Cup or Pale Yellow Top Urine Tube-no preservative
Preferred Volume to Collect: 10.0 mL
Minimum Volume to Collect: 1.0 mL
Neonate Volume to Collect: 1.0 mL
Collection Instructions:
- No additive.
- Send fresh urine, specimen less than 2 hours old.
- Keep container upright at all times and check that lid is fastened evenly and securely.
