Both specimens must be frozen prior to arriving to Corewell Health Laboratory.

Specimen Requirements

Both serum and urine are required for this test.

Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: 2 Gold Top (Serum Separator-SST Gel)
Volume: 10 mL
Minimum volume: 3 mL serum
Collection Instructions: Allow specimens to clot for 30 minutes and centrifuge within 2 hours. Specimen needs to be aliqouted into 2 separate vials. Aliqout 0.5 mL serum in 1st transport vial and 2.5 ml serum in 2nd transport vial. Freeze for transport.

COLLECTION NOTE: Volumes listed are in serum or plasma, draw approximately 2 1/2 times the requested volume in whole blood.
