- Assessing mast cell activation, which may occur as a result of anaphylaxis or allergen challenge
- Assessing patients with systemic mastocytosis or mast cell activation syndrome

Container(s): Gold Top (Serum Separator-SST Gel)
Preferred Volume to Collect: 5.0 mL
Minimum Volume to Collect: 1.0 mL
Neonate Volume to Collect: 1.0 mL

Collection Instructions:
- Gently invert gold tube(s) 8 - 10 times to mix clot activator with blood.
- Specimen should be processed within 2 hours – See Processing Instructions.
