Container(s): Red top (no additive) or Gold Top (Serum Separator-SST Gel)

Preferred Volume to Collect: 6.0 mL
Minimum Volume to Collect: 1.0 mL
Neonate Volume to Collect: 1.0 mL

Collection Instructions:

Cannot be shared or combined with any other lab test outside of the department.
After collection, gently invert tube 8-10 times.
Red top is preferred tube.
Specimen should be processed within 2 hours – See Processing Instructions below.
