Monitor patients receiving creatine supplementation.
Collection Instructions
Specimen Collection: Blood
Container(s): Gold Top Serum Separator Tube (SST) or Plain Red Top
Preferred Volume to Collect: Full tube
Minimum Volume to Collect: 3.0 mL
Collection Instructions:
- Gold/Serum: Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes in a vertical position and centrifuge within 2 hours.
PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS
Separate from cells within 6 hours of collection.
Transfer 1 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP standard transport tube and freeze immediately. (Min: 0.2 mL)
