Epic Code LAB2111304 Microscopic examination

Important Note

It is recommended that Lab is called prior to the collection of body fluids for parasite analysis. Parasite stability is unknown and may disintegrate easily if not transported and analyzed quickly. Coordination of rapid transport of specimens to the Lab during weekdays will provide the best results for this testing.

Stool specimens will be rejected. Stool submitted for parasite analysis should be ordered as Giardia/Cryptosporidium [LAB258] or Ova and Parasite [LAB9550].
