Container(s): Plastic 24-hour urine jug
Preferred Volume to Collect: entire collection
Minimum Volume to Collect: 25.0 mL
Neonate Volume to Collect: 25.0 mL
Collection Instructions:
- No additive.
- Refrigerate specimen during collection.
- Starting and ending times of collection are required.
- Keep container upright at all times and check that lid is fastened evenly and securely.

Leaky specimen container.
Specimen not refrigerated during collection.
Specimen missing collection times.
Specimen Stability
Refrigerate: 7 days
Laboratory Retention: 72 hours
Reflex Information
Pathologist will review urine electrophoresis and if necessary, a urine immunofixation will be performed at an additional charge.
Test Frequency
Available Monday – Friday, routine TAT 3 to 5 days.
Reference Range
Normal protein electrophoresis pattern. No monoclonal bands or other abnormalities noted.
