Specimen Requirements
Submit only one of the following specimens:
Specimen Type: Paraffin embedded tissue
Collection Instructions: The paraffin embedded
tissue block(s) must include both normal and tumor tissue
sections. Areas of interest for testing must be marked in
both the normal and tumor tissue sections on the paraffin block or
on an accompanying slide. The ATL Surgical Specimen form
completed by the Pathologist must be submitted with the paraffin
embedded tissue.
Specimen Type: Fresh tissue
Collection Instructions: Fresh biopsy tissue(s)
must be flash frozen immediately after collection. The
tissue(s) must be transported on dry ice, and should be received
and processed within 24 hours of collection. The frozen
tissue(s) must include both normal and tumor tissue sections.
The ATL Surgical Specimen form completed by the Pathologist must be
submitted with the frozen tissue.
Specimen Stability
Laboratory Retention: Extracted DNA retained greater than 1 year.
Test Frequency
Available once per week, usual TAT less than 7 days.
