Clinical Information
The evaluation of coagulation factor V is indicated for the diangosis of congenital or acquired Factor V deficient states. Acquired deficiencies are noted in cases of liver dysfunction, consumption coagulopathy, factor V inhibitors, and myeloproliferative disorders. Also indicated for the evaluation of a prolonged prothrombin time or activated partial thromboplastin time.
Ordering Instructions
For written orders: Please specify Factor V Activity or Factor V Leiden DNA Analysis.
Factor V activity is useful for diagnosing congenital or acquired factor V deficiencies. Factor V activity is not indicated for hyper coagulation evaluation. For hypercoagulation panels please order Factor V Leiden DNA analysis.
