Clinical Information

Component panel includes allergens: Ovomucoid (Gal d 1) and Ovalbumin (Gal d 2).

Consideration for baked tolerance and outgrowing allergy is best interpreted by board certified allergist with potential for in office challenge.

Collection Instructions

Specimen Collection: Blood

Container(s): Gold Top (Serum Separator-SST Gel)

Preferred Volume to Collect: Full tube (5 mL)

Minimum Volume to Collect: 2.0 mL

Neonate Volume to Collect: 2.0 mL

Capillary collect ok? Yes

Microtainer acceptable: Yes

Collection Instructions:

  • Gently invert gold tube(s) 8 – 10 times to mix clot activator with blood.
  • Specimen should be processed within 2 hours – See Processing Instructions.
  • 1 full tube per 15 – 20 allergens.

Centrifuge/Spin: Yes

Processing Instructions: Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes in a vertical position and centrifuge within 2 hours.

  • Specimen not centrifuged within 2 hours
