Clinical Information
Use for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies against the nucleocapsid protein of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) that develop in response to natural infection with SARS-CoV-2. These antibodies do not develop as a result of a COVID-19 vaccination. There are no current recommendations for assessing COVID-19 vaccine response.
Collection Instructions
Container(s): Gold top (Serum Separator SST) or EDTA plasma
Preferred Volume to Collect: 1.5 mL
Minimum Volume to Collect: 1 mL

- After collection, gently invert tube 8-10 times.
- Specimen should be processed ASAP or within 2 hours – See Processing Instructions below.

Processing Instructions:
- Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes in a vertical position and centrifuge promptly.
- Within two hours aliquot serum or plasma into a plastic transport tube and refrigerate as soon as possible.
